Anderson Cooper 360~Fairhaven

Gary Tuchman continued his series, “Ungodly Discipline” this segment featured Roger Voegtlin and Fairhaven Baptist Church, Chesterton, Indiana.

Here is the recording on Sermon Audio, of Roger Voegtlin, preaching his message entitled, “Spiritual Spanking”  Sermon Audio plays all the messages preached from Bob Jones University.

Here are just a few highlights.

Spanking used to be the norm–when I was a kid it was the norm in the public schools–it’s gone now…it’s just about gone from private and Christian schools…we’re a rare school when our principal goes around with his paddle spanking the kids…people think kids shouldn’t be shamed by being spanked in front of other kids. Well, I think they should be.

Oh yes, those good old days.  When you could beat up a little boy for urinating in the shower and no one said a word.

They’re trying to take the rod out of our homes, too…some in our church, the government has come to their home and knocked on their door and inspected their kids’ bottom.

Wonder why law enforcement and Indiana Family and Social Services Administration would wonder if any of these kids were abused?

Now, what is a rod? I don’t think it’s a ball bat, I don’t think it’s a club…but it’s obviously some kind of a stick or a switch. It’s designed to give a sharp, unpleasant pain. If that isn’t the result of your spanking, then you’re failing…now in American history, it was a peach switch when the kids were real young, it was a hickory stick…in my home as a boy it was the strap. A leather thing about the diameter of my little finger…it was a foot to eighteen inches. The result was, I would DANCE. When he came across with that strap it would come inside my thighs, and ohhhh did it BURN…I mean it would make WELTS. Now, that’s Bible.

As a parting gift,  Gary Tuchman  was given a paddle. Why would anyone wonder if children are still being abused at Fairhaven.  I wonder.  Hmmm……

More Churches Found to Support Mack Ford

In its July/August 2011 edition, Mother Jones magazine published a expose and slide show citing former residents accounts of physical, emotional, psychological abuse of Independent Fundamental Baptist Boarding Homes for “troubled teens.”  One facility in particular, several survivors tell of horrific and systemic sexual abuse that even sickened a S&M blogger.  This facility was New Bethany which was located in Arcadia, Louisiana.  New Bethany is closed .  In June 2011, it came to Chuckles attention that under the orders of pastor Ronnie Baity, Berean Baptist Church, of Winston-Salem, NC was still financially supporting Mack Ford and New Bethany.  Mr. Baity’s response can be read here.

Yesterday it has come to Chuckles attention that there are other churches that continue to support New Bethany Homes, alleged child abuser, child torturer, alleged child rapist Mack Ford.

Calvary Baptist Church, Sulfur Louisiana. W. T. Darnell, Pastor.

New Testament Baptist Church, Centralia, Illinois.  Don Smith, Pastor.

Faith Baptist Church, Spokane Missouri.  James Mohler, Pastor *Note:  The very first “missionary” on the churches missionary list is ”Mack FordNew Bethany Home P.O. Box 764, Arcadia, LA 71001.

Why are these churches and pastors sending missionary support money to a ministry that is no longer operational?

Update:

A complilation of stories as told by several New Bethany Survivors was recently released by Mr. Roger Kiser.  Their stories are heartbreaking and horrifying.
