A few quotes along with my (Chuckles) thoughts:
“Schaap later lied to his staff when they grew concerned about the amount of time he spent with the girl by claiming the girl was on her period and was just resting on his couch.”
WHAT IS WRONG WITH ALL OF THOSE PEOPLE?
Who thinks it’s normal for any pastor to know when a girl is on her period?
“Now she’s had to transfer schools, and her family was told it wasn’t safe for them to return to the church, according to letters from her parents.”
Again! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ALL THOSE PEOPLE?
Why was she told it wasn’t safe to return to her church? Was she being threatened or had something happened to her at church?
Are some of these people making it unsafe for the victim the same people who sat idly behind him and remained mute while Jack Schaap demonstrated masturbation at a youth conference?
Are these people making it unsafe for the victim the same folks who listened and remained silent while he said from the pulpit the vile things contained in the video below about teen girls less that one month before he was arrested?
Starting near the middle of page 17 of the sentencing memorandum:
“As mentioned in her letters, the victim is participating in regular psychotherapy to help her cope with this incredibly difficult situation and her evolving feelings for the Defendant. Undersigned counsel has met with many victims during the time she has been prosecuting sex offenses but has never before worked with one who was groomed and sexually abused by a religious figure who expertly used his “inside track” to God to justify his illegal conduct to his victim.”
To the victim and the victims family. We here at Chucklestravels hurt for you. You’ve suffered enough. Those people at FBCH were never your friends. They aren’t Godly either. They’re going to have a lot to answer for to their Maker.

The story behind us and the things that has happened the past forty years seems to be easier for me than in the beginning.
All too often you hear supporters whining about victims hurting the cause for Christ, because they were brave enough to step forward. People dream up all kinds of excuses in their heads to justify things. Honestly? They sound like bully teenagers that think they are grown up enough to know things.
The fact it took a child to bring down someone like Schaap, and his letters to her that will no doubt bring shame upon that church?
That is the true shame, and their actions cause hurt to churches. It shows they don’t have enough integrity, character, and the Love of Christ within them to face what they must face. It shows they are not truly different from the world they preach against.
This poor girl and her family WILL rise above this. It will take time, help, support, and self reflection of course. Jesus is on their side. Christ Love is what will save the day, and turn lies around. Human’s can’t hurt his cause which is us. He is stronger than that.
Lord please be with this family, and show them your TRUE love that is uninhibited by the fear and manipulation of others. Give them a support system that will love them as you would have them treated. Show this child that she is YOUR child clearly, and unconditionally. May this circumstance open eyes and hearts enough to see your true love for us all. Amen.
Yes..,,,let us pray for the victim and her family, My son was 16 when his married IFB teacher at Maranatha Baptist Bible College groomed him from her power position as his teacher to have sex with her. She like this pastor used sex to satisfy her needs by taking advantage of a teen who the IFB doctrins had already primed these teens to obey the IFB leader. When a family is told their teen has just been RAPED,,,Oh wait that is not how the IFB tell the family.. at least in our case we were told by the president of MBBC …”Well your son was caught by Mr Brown in a motel room with his wife and we are now expelling Scott from Maranatha academy. Scott go get your things and leave the building,” The parent also trained in the IFB may do as we did…Leave the building with their teen who may still have physical evidence of the rape in and on their body,,,yes we just left the building, We we then fired from being able to continue the teaching job in the MBBC system. Scott was locked in the basement of the church at Calvary Babtist in Watertown. Wi during school hours with nothing but a Bible to keep him away from the othe students who were wondering where he had gone since my son was also forced as was Tina Anderson to confess in front of the church that he had sinned. The stories of abuse in the IFB chuch and schools will continue….continue…con…co…….UNTILL we bring it to an end with God. My husband and I ended up divorcing because we had no help or support to get through this trauma of our son and our faith. Please support this family. What I needed to hear from my IFB friends was ” Nancy, we have reported this rape to the police and we are going to stand by you as this teacher is charged. We love you,,,God loves you and we will never ever let this happen to another child in this school, ” What did we hear instead. ” You are bad parents and silence along with silence,,shunning and more silence..: Who will God use to end this abuse? This man deserves every day he has to serve. He will probably serve more than 10 years, because when a sexual pervert comes up for release, he is rarely released on the first time.
Now, maybe a dumb question…I have heard nothing about his wife in all this. Any one know what is happening with her? Inquiring minds would like to know what her take on this is.
Schaap’s wife asked the judge for leniency because her husband had prostate trouble! I’m not making that up. As far as what she thinks of her husband’s sin, I don’t know.
These people are really sic. I understand that why criminals do things that they do, like rape kids but why do churches put up with the pastors or schools like BJU that protect the rapist or child molesters.
When a pastor rapes a girl or protects a rapist within his, that person is not needed as a Pastor nor should he be entrusted because God says their actions disqualify them from being a pastor after that type of event. Especially when they lie about it.
He’s a sick pig and he deserves the death penalty for what he did.
Sad to say, he’ll be out in about five or six years.
Because of personal issues, for a long time I have not wanted to say or even admit the following — but the overriding answer to this is very easy: Jack the 1st created a cult and Jack the 2nd continued this cult. FBCH has functioned as a cult for a very long time. FBCH is a cult and like all well designed cults, the members proved their faithfulness by turning a blind eye, excusing abhorrent behavior and keeping their mouths shut.
